hey everyone!

waaaa...thanks, xiaocheng, for creating this platform for us...although i got a strange feeling that it may soon be deserted like our favourite teacher's blog...haha

but what a coincidence, that a fragment of my past is to catch up with me tonight! But for a long time already, there has been this horrible feeling eating me from the inside out- the feeling of regret.

i guess the change in environment has given me a new take on life and has allowed me to reflect on my past actions. And now i have realised, abeit too late, that i failed as your vice-head prefect last year.

i guess for the entire year last year, i was focusing too much on my past, on myself, on the mundane cycle of morning and assembly duties that i failed to realise the true meaning behind the word, 'leader'. Although i know that you guys did not choose me to be your representatives due to the undemocratic processes of prefectorial selection, but i still had the power...the power to bring about change. How many people get such a shot? Not many. But I did...and i blew it.

I look back now and the two words, "what if", mark the beginning of my every thought. There was so much more that i could have done to make the lives of you guys (including our teachers) better. And the worst part was, that for all 365 days of 2006, i went through each and every day without realising this.

Whenever i go back to our old school, my heart cries out to God in regret. I look around me at all the familiar faces and i ask myself, "what if i could have done something to make their day at school better?", "what if i could have helped the school develop his potential as a student and even a leader to his fullest potential".

i was selfish and short-sighted and for all of that...

i'm sorry.

so as all of you go out to be leaders in your respective schools and workplace, i just want to wish all of you, my friends, the very best.
